About Greta

Greta is an insightful, energetic and captivating speaker who contributes to the collective empowerment and education of others through her gift of storytelling.

Greta, a former police officer, served her community of Nashville, TN for twelve years. After leaving law enforcement, Greta spent two years as the Victims of Crime Coordinator with the Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault before becoming a support group facilitator and advocate at the YWCA Domestic Violence Center. After being sexually assaulted in 2017, she started Silent No Longer Tennessee, a nonprofit organization that provides advocacy, referal and theraputic creative expression programs to victims of sexual assault, and serves as the executive director.

Greta has an energetic and authentic personality and employes innovative training methods to engage her audiance. Her years of experience and expertise allows her to inform and inspire others through informational and motivational speaking engagements and presentations. In 2022, Greta was one of five individuals featured in the PBS show American Anthems, appearing in the Let The Words Come Out episode. Her gift for storytelling allows her to share her personal story and contribute to the collective empowerment and education of all she engages with.

Metro Nashville Police Dept. | 1991- 2000

  • As a patrol officer, I was tasked with responding to service calls within my designated area, while also proactively initiating patrol activities to ensure community safety and address any suspicious behavior.
  • As a master patrol officer, I carried out the responsibilities of a patrol officer, in addition to training, supervising, evaluating, and monitoring newly graduated officers from the police academy. I was often called upon to act in a Sergeant’s position, which involved overseeing patrol officers, managing investigations, inspecting paperwork, coordinating resources for various situations, and making critical supervisory decisions.
  • As a detective, I specialized in investigating Adult Sex Abuse cases assigned to me. This role required me to prioritize cases, conduct thorough interviews with victims, suspects, and witnesses, and direct support staff in processing crime scenes. Additionally, I was responsible for presenting evidence and testifying in court to support the prosecution of offenders.

  • As a dispatcher, I managed incoming calls for service, assessed the urgency of each situation, and promptly dispatched the appropriate patrol officers. This role required exceptional multitasking skills, quick decision-making, and clear communication to ensure timely and effective responses.
  • As a patrol officer, I responded to service calls, engaged in proactive patrol activities, and interacted with both my colleagues and the community. My duties included addressing immediate concerns, maintaining a visible presence to deter crime, and building positive relationships with community members to enhance public safety and trust.
